Giant Asian Pond Turtle (Heosemys grandis)
Size: This is one of the largest Asian turtles. It is a semi aquatic hard shell turtle commonly found in SouthEast Asian countries. It can reach up to 17 inches in length, males are usually shorter with thicker, longer tails than females.
Caging: Can be kept as a juvenile or a hatchling in a concrete mixing tub or a tank. The water area should be deep enough to completely submerge the turtle, the dry land area should be a dry basking area with a uvb lamp. ***Bigger is always better***
Diet: The Giant Asian Pond Turtle is a omnivore that eats greens, fruits, veggies, pellets, insects, worms, and meat.
Handling: These turtles like to interact with people but do not liked to be touched a lot.
