Spotted Turtle Hatchlings (Clemmys guttata)

RESTRICTED STATES: HI, GA, ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, DE, MD, VA, WV, PA, OH, OR, MI, WA, IN, SC, IL

Size: Generally reaches 4 inches. 

Enclosure: They are Semi-Aquatic turtles that are bad swimmers so shallow waters are necessary so their feet can always be on the ground. Provide logs and raising areas to rest and to bask. Make sure water is always clean and great way to do this is by adding aquatic plants. An outdoor enclosure is suggested to be at least 12 inches tall and 3x2 feet.  ***Bigger is always better***

Diet: Spotted turtles are mainly carnivores which includes shrimp, worms, crickets, and other insects. Aquatic turtle diet to make sure they get all the nutrients they need.

Handling: Like all turtles, these turtles should be left alone to a minimum and to be observed in their enclosure.
