Size: Hatchlings are about the size of a quarter coin. Males reach about 5 inches-Females reach about 10 inches
Enclosure: A 75-90 gallon tank is recommended for 1. ***Bigger is always better*** They are excellent swimmers and should be kept in a clean water tank, with as much depth as possible. A water filtration is absolutely necessary and rubber made tanks are affordable for large water volumes. They should have a basking area with uvb light over the basking area.
Diet: These turtles have an aquatic turtle diet and enjoy worms, insects, shrimp, and feeder fish.
Handling: They are very friendly and docile. They rather not be handled but more for observing purposes.
